Di kesempatan ini, penulis ingin berkongsi sedikit ilmu yang menarik perhatian penulis sewaktu menghadiri kelas UNGS: Islam: Knowledge and Civilization.
Ustaz menimbulkan persoalan..
"Why Western community is more superior than Islamic community?"
"The reason is that they are practising the sense of merit and justice in their community. Where did they learnt this from? Yes, they learnt it from Islam!"
Persoalannya di sini ialah mengapa umat Islam sendiri tidak mempraktikkan nilai murni yg telah diajar oleh Rasulullah ini? Merit and justice. Berbuat baik dan berlaku adil.
Jika kita amati, masalah ini sudah semakin parah terutamanya di kalangan masyarakat Islam di Malaysia sendiri. Sebagai contoh, pemimpin yang menolak hukum Islam, polis yang mengamalkan rasuah, doktor yang lebih mementingkan kebendaan berbanding keselamatan pesakit, bos syarikat yang melantik CEO di kalangan kroni sendiri, cikgu dan pensyarah yang memberikan markah lebih kepada pelajar yang disukai dan macam-macam lagi..
If this problem is not cured from now on, we are not only fail to reform the Muslim world (the ummah), but we even cannot reform ourselves. This problem is killing the ummah!
Thus, in whatever field we are now or in the future (medcine, engineering, nursing, syari'ah, etc..), please remember that, we can only serve the ummah whenever there is the sense of merit and justice in ourselves.
